Due to COVID-19 we will not be holding the Addiction Medicine Conference as scheduled in Asheville.
Like others, we have adjusted our plans and are now offering an online version of the 11th annual 2020 Addiction Medicine Conference on May 1-2, 2020 to provide the latest up to date information in addiction medicine!

The Addiction Medicine Essentials 2019 conference, held October 4-5 in Durham, NC was a great success. Next year’s event will be announced soon and will provide addiction medicine basics for a range of healthcare professionals working in primary care and behavioral health settings. Topics will likely include Core Concepts of Addiction, Behavioral Pharmacotherapy, Common Comorbidities, Motivational Interviewing, and more!

The virtual conference will take place May 1-2, 2020 and is appropriate for primary care providers as well as addiction medicine specialists. COVID-19 and its impact on addiction medicine will be a major focus, including a presentation by leaders at the CDC, SAMHSA and NC DHHS. The program offers 15 hours of CME/CE, 20 presenters and 20 topics including ACES, stimulants, kratom, vaping, cannabis, behavioral addictions, NAS, UDS, detox, infectious comorbidities and more.
Audience: ALL members of the healthcare team including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, SUD counselors, pharmacists and students are invited to attend.
Addiction Medicine Conference and Essentials provide up-to-date substance use related education, applicable across general medical as well as addiction specialty practices.
